The Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join an outstanding school in Birmingham from November 2026 on a long-term supply basis.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging History lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop their historical knowledge, understand significant events and periods, and analyse historical sources and interpretations. You will encourage critical thinking, historical enquiry and informed debate, while planning effective lessons, assessing student progress and maintaining high standards of behaviour and achievement.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will:

Hold QTS or be an ECT specialising in History.
Have strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach History across KS3 and KS4.
Deliver engaging lessons that inspire curiosity about the past.
Develop students’ analytical skills and ability to evaluate historical evidence.
Demonstrate effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
Adapt teaching to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
Be organised, reliable and committed to supporting student progress.
