History Teacher Permanent Lewisham Location: South East London Pay: Paid to Scale Contract: Permanent, Full Time Start Date: January 2027 About the Role CANDL Recruitment is working with a well-established secondary school in South East London to recruit a passionate and engaging History Teacher on a permanent basis. The school is part of a respected multi-academy trust with a strong focus on high expectations, professional development and creating opportunities for students beyond the classroom. This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced History Teacher or a strong ECT who wants to join a supportive humanities department and make a real impact. The school is looking for someone who can bring History to life, engage students in the subject and help them develop strong analytical, written and critical-thinking skills. Key Responsibilities Teach History across KS3 and KS4. Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons. Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback. Support students to develop strong historical knowledge and analytical skills. Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development. Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement and achievement. Take part in wider school life and enrichment where appropriate.
