History Teacher (Maternity COver)
History Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Bradford | KS3 & KS4 | Full-Time | From October Half Term
Not every history classroom is the same.
Some lessons spark debate about the causes of war, the impact of revolution or the legacy of empire. Others require patience, resilience and the ability to win over students who would rather be anywhere else. If you''re the kind of teacher who can do both, we''d like to hear from you.
A secondary school in Bradford is seeking a History Teacher to join them on a maternity cover basis from October half term. The successful candidate will teach across KS3 and KS4, including responsibility for some GCSE exam classes.
This is an opportunity for a teacher who enjoys making history relevant, accessible and challenging for students of all abilities. You''ll be joining a school with a broad and diverse intake where no two days look quite the same.
The Role
- Teach History across KS3 and KS4.
- Deliver engaging GCSE lessons and support exam groups.
- Track progress and help students achieve their potential.
- Contribute to a collaborative Humanities department.
- Maintain high expectations both inside and outside the classroom.
About the School
The school serves a varied community and offers a rewarding environment for teachers who are confident in their classroom practice.
Behaviour ranges from highly engaged learners to students who require additional support and firm boundaries. As a result, the school is looking for someone who can build positive relationships while maintaining clear expectations and consistency.
This role would suit a teacher who:
- Is comfortable teaching a wide range of abilities.
- Can remain calm and effective when faced with challenging behaviour.
- Understands that strong classroom management is just as important as strong subject knowledge.
- Enjoys seeing students make progress, regardless of their starting point.
We''re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4.
- The ability to teach GCSE classes confidently.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- A practical, adaptable approach to teaching.
In Return
- Competitive rates of pay.
- Supportive departmental and senior leadership teams.
- A well-resourced Humanities department.
- The opportunity to make a real difference during a key stage of students'' education.
If you''re a History Teacher who combines subject expertise with the ability to manage a busy and varied classroom, we''d love to hear from you. Apply today for a role starting after October half term.
