Are you a passionate History Teacher who enjoys bringing the past to life and encouraging young people to think critically? A welcoming secondary school in Doncaster is looking for a committed History Teacher to join their team from September.

About the Role:

As a History Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping pupils develop a strong understanding of historical events, people and societies. You will encourage pupils to analyse evidence, consider different perspectives and build the knowledge and skills needed for their academic progress and future study.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging History lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Teach a broad range of historical topics in line with the relevant curriculum.

  • Develop pupils'' ability to analyse sources, evidence and historical interpretations.

  • Assess, monitor and record pupil progress.

  • Adapt lessons to meet different abilities and learning needs.

  • Prepare pupils effectively for relevant assessments and examinations.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support pupil progress.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching History within a secondary school setting.

  • Strong subject knowledge across the relevant History curriculum.

  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.

  • A genuine passion for History and helping pupils develop critical thinking skills.

  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
