A unique and influential opportunity has arisen for a visionary Head of History to lead a thriving department at a leading secondary school in Newham. The Role
The Head of History will:
- Provide strategic leadership and operational management for the History department.
- Oversee curriculum development, assessment, and teaching and learning across KS3-5.
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of dedicated History teachers.
- Promote historical literacy, critical thinking, and a nuanced understanding of the past.
- Manage resources, contribute to whole-school Humanities initiatives, and organise enrichment activities.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an exceptional History teacher with QTS/QTLS and proven leadership experience who:
- Possesses a strong academic background in History and a passion for the subject.
- Demonstrates inspiring leadership, strong management skills, and a collaborative approach.
- Is committed to fostering historical understanding, analytical rigour, and a love of the past.
- Is data-informed and innovative in curriculum and extracurricular provision.
