History Teacher – Secondary School (KS3 & KS4)

Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Long-term cover until July 2027 (potential to go permanent)
Pay: £168 – £230 per day (dependent on experience)

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher to join the school from September 2026. You will deliver engaging and high-quality History lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, inspiring curiosity about the past and helping students understand its impact on the present. The role involves contributing to a dynamic Humanities department that values collaboration, high standards, and inclusive teaching.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging History lessons in line with the national curriculum and the school’s values

• Inspire students to think critically about historical events, sources, and interpretations

• Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback to support student progress

• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

• Contribute to extracurricular activities such as history clubs, trips, and enrichment opportunities

• Uphold the school’s ethos of respect, aspiration, and personal development

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

• Degree in History or a related subject

• Experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4

• Strong subject knowledge and understanding of curriculum expectations

• Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills

• A commitment to inspiring a love of learning and academic curiosity
