Role Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic and inspiring History Teacher to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5. The successful candidate will have a passion for history and an ability to bring it to life in the classroom, encouraging students to think critically and develop a deep understanding of the past. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is dedicated to providing an outstanding history education and helping students build a strong foundation for their future academic and personal success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective History lessons to students across KS3, KS4, and KS5, ensuring a high standard of education.

  • Develop and implement creative, inclusive lesson plans that promote a passion for history and encourage critical thinking.

  • Prepare students for assessments, examinations, and coursework, supporting them in achieving their full potential.

  • Foster a love for historical inquiry, encouraging students to explore historical events, perspectives, and sources.

  • Provide feedback on student progress and adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to further develop and enhance the History curriculum.

  • Participate in extracurricular activities related to history, such as school history clubs, trips, or projects.

  • Uphold a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment, supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic development.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in History or a related subject.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the UK History curriculum at secondary school level (KS3–KS5).

  • A passion for history and the ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to engage students in critical discussions and help them make connections between the past and the present.

  • Experience of teaching History at KS3, KS4, and KS5 is desirable, but not essential.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
