A well-established highways maintenance contractor is seeking an experienced Highways Safety Inspector to support the safe operation and maintenance of the local highway network. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy team responsible for ensuring the network remains safe for all users.

Your new role
As a Highways Safety Inspector, you will play a key role in monitoring highway conditions, identifying defects, and ensuring appropriate action is taken to maintain network safety.

Key responsibilities include:

• Undertaking routine and reactive highway safety inspections
• Identifying and recording defects in line with inspection standards
• Responding to emergency incidents and supporting operational teams
• Providing front-line support to stakeholders and members of the public
• Preparing accurate inspection records and reports
• Liaising with delivery teams to ensure remedial works are completed
• Promoting safe working practices and compliance with health and safety requirements

What you''ll need to succeed

• LANTRA Highway Safety Inspector qualification
• Experience in highway maintenance and emergency response environments
• Strong IT skills with the ability to maintain accurate records
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to analyse information and resolve problems effectively
• Confidence working with stakeholders, customers, and members of the public
• Professional, diplomatic, and approachable manner
