      <description>Location: Southend-on-Sea | Salary: Negotiable | Type: Permanent | CSS Recruitment are looking to speak to Highways Project Managers to cover projects in Essex.   Role and Responsibilities       Manage highway maintenance and improvement works, including patching, PGR, street furniture and road signage.       Plan and monitor project programmes, budgets, resources and contractor performance.       Ensure compliance with highway specifications, health and safety regulations and quality standards.       Coordinate site inspections, traffic management, risk assessments and defect resolution.       Liaise with contractors, local authorities and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.        Essential Requirements       Valid NRSWA card.       Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate.       Valid CSCS card.       Proven experience in highways maintenance and project management.       Strong knowledge of highway works, site safety, traffic management and contractor supervision.       Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
