Highways Operative

Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking a Highways Operative to join a local authority on an initial three month temporary contract, working 37 hours per week. This role will support essential highways drainage repairs and maintenance activities to ensure the network remains safe and operational. Overview: The successful candidate will work within the drainage department carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the highways network. This is a hands on role requiring practical experience and a strong awareness of health and safety procedures. Main Duties: Undertake drainage repairs and maintenance on highways assets Assist with reactive works including blockage clearance and minor repairs Support planned drainage inspections and maintenance programmes Operate tools, plant and equipment in line with safety procedures Work as part of a team to ensure works are completed efficiently and safely Maintain accurate records of works carried out Essential Criteria: Previous experience working in highways or drainage maintenance Knowledge of health and safety procedures within a highways environment Ability to carry out manual handling and outdoor physical work Full UK driving licence Ability to work effectively as part of a team If your skills match the above criteria, please apply with your up-to-date CV. ..... full job details .....
