We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Highways Maintenance Operative to join our dynamic Staffordshire Account at our Tollgate Depot (ST16 2LP). This role will be carried out onsite and around Stafford.
What You''ll Do:
- Carrying out repairs and improvements to structures throughout Staffordshire. This can include brickwork, stonework and concrete repairs, removing vegetation, painting, use of small tools, use of access equipment, assisting with bridge inspections
- To drive/operate vehicles/plant requiring general and specialist skills including vehicle checks, routine maintenance, (eg oil and water checks etc) and cleaning.
- Winter maintenance operations - optional.
- Emergency call out operations - optional
- Taking responsibility for the safety of yourself and others within your team to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and safe operation to protect member of the public.
- Carrying out vehicle checks prior to shift starting, correctly filling in defect books.
- Recording of Drivers hours
- Allocation and capturing time and resource utilisation in line with operated allocation system
- To keep records, complete all necessary paperwork, communicate and liaise with other employees of Amey, sub-contractors, the general public, clients and customers.

- Appropriate qualification for a relevant trade would be an advantage. But a basic level of craftmanship and an understanding of line and level will be required.
