Key Responsibilities Manage and take ownership of a designated geographical area as part of a Local Highways team responsible for maintaining and improving a quarter of the county''s highway network. Prioritise and deliver engineering solutions based on highway safety, serviceability, asset condition, and the needs of the travelling public. Undertake highways inspections and assessments to identify defects, maintenance requirements, and potential safety risks. Coordinate and oversee highways maintenance activities to ensure the network remains safe and operational. Respond to and manage highway emergency incidents, including severe weather events, road traffic damage, flooding, and other network disruptions. Investigate and progress enforcement matters under the Highways Act, including issues relating to obstructions, encroachments, and highway protection.
