As a Highways Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of highway schemes, working across multiple project stages from concept through to completion.
Responsibilities
·Lead and contribute to the design of highways and traffic engineering schemes
·Produce and review drawings, specifications, and technical reports
·Collaborate with local authorities, developers, and contractors
·Ensure compliance with UK design standards, CDM regulations, and safety requirements
·Support project delivery, including planning, budgeting, and programme management
·Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
·Work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions

Requirements
·Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
·Strong experience in highway design and project delivery
·Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD (and ideally Civil 3D)
·Good understanding of UK highways standards (e.g. DMRB) and NEC contracts
·Experience working on multi-disciplinary projects
·Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
·Ability to manage workloads, deadlines, and project priorities effectively
·Ideally Chartered or working towards professional accreditation
