Highways Clerk of Works Vacancy- Outside IR35 North East England Contract - 12 Months £35-£40 per hour- Outside IR35I am currently recruiting for an experienced Highways Clerk of Works to support a programme of highway works across the North East of England. This is an initial 12-month contract working on a range of heritage and Active Travel schemes, ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification and in line with required standards.This role will suit someone with strong site supervision experience within highways or civil engineering, who is comfortable overseeing contractors and reporting on progress and quality of works.Key Responsibilities Carry out regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of works Ensure construction activities comply with design specifications, standards and health and safety requirements Monitor contractor performance and workmanship on site Identify and report defects, non-compliance or safety issues Maintain clear site records, reports and documentation Liaise with project managers, engineers and contractors to support project delivery Requirements Minimum 5 years'' experience in a Highways Clerk of Works, Site Supervisor or similar role Experience working on highways, infrastructure or public realm projects Good understanding of highway construction methods and specifications Ability to confidently challenge contractors where works do not meet required standards Local authority experience preferred, but not ..... full job details .....
