Highways - Active Travel Engineer

Our client, a dynamic and growing consultancy in the highways sector, is seeking to recruit an experienced Highways - Active Travel Engineer to take a leading role in delivering a diverse range of development schemes across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute design expertise across commercial, residential, healthcare, and education projects, ensuring high standards in compliance, technical excellence, and client satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:Design highways in accordance with relevant standards, including Local Highway Authority guidance, Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20, DMRB, and NRSWADesign drainage systems in line with Sewerage Sector Guidance, the Code for Adoption Agreements, and The SuDS Manual (CIRIA C753)Undertake the design of public realm, active travel, cycling infrastructure improvements, major highways, and utilities coordinationGain experience in site monitoring and assist in the production of fee proposals and bidsLiaise and negotiate with highway and planning authorities to agree proposed designsCoordinate highway and drainage adoption processes and legal requirements, including S278, S38, and S104 agreementsProduce technical reports and attend meetings with clients, architects, contractors, local authorities, and other statutory bodiesJob Requirements:A degree in Civil Engineering (or similar) with experience in civil engineeringWorking towards or holding a professional qualification (Incorporated or Chartered)Experience in the design of ..... full job details .....
