Exciting Opportunity for a Highway Maintenance Design Engineer in LeicestershireAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highway Maintenance Design Engineer to support a busy local authority team delivering a significant programme of carriageway and footway improvements across Leicestershire.This role will play a key part in progressing essential highway schemes that are currently on hold pending resource, with a strong pipeline of work including carriageway schemes, a large-scale footway programme, and a major link road investment exceeding £1m. The successful candidate will be instrumental in unlocking delivery across a £5m carriageway programme.The main duties of the Highway Maintenance Design Engineer include: Producing detailed highway design drawings for carriageway and footway schemes. Developing and amending CAD drawings including road markings, keylines, and general highway layouts. Designing works such as resurfacing, blacktop changes, lowered kerbs, and minor civil engineering elements. Supporting delivery of two carriageway schemes in the Melton Mowbray area. Contributing to a large-scale footway improvement programme. Liaising with internal teams including Network Management and other stakeholders. Assisting with scheme development from concept through to delivery.
