Exciting Opportunity for a Highway Inspector in LeicesterAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highway Inspector to join a highways team in Leicester. This role plays a key part in ensuring the safety and integrity of the highway network through the delivery of inspections, enforcement activities and responding to highway-related issues. The successful candidate will carry out routine highway inspections, investigate defects and support enforcement activities to ensure the network remains safe and well maintained.This is a great opportunity to work within a highways team responsible for maintaining high standards across the local road network while engaging with a range of stakeholders including members of the public, contractors, businesses and utility providers. The role will require travel across the network using your own vehicle.This is an initial 3-month contract with a likely extension. The main duties of the Highway Inspector include: Carrying out highway condition inspections in accordance with the relevant Code of Practice and inspection schedules. Identifying and recording highway defects, prioritising works and raising appropriate repair instructions. Recording inspection information accurately within asset management systems. Responding to customer enquiries, complaints and requests relating to highway defects and maintenance issues.
