Highway Design Engineer - Outside IR35

Our client is currently seeking experienced Highway Design Engineers to join their team on a contract basis.

Working within the Highways team, you will be supporting the Capital Highways Improvements Programme in Bournemouth, with a particular focus on Safer Routes to School, the Bus Service Improvement Plan, and the Active Travel Fund.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing and implementing highway improvement projects
• Supporting the Capital Highways Improvements Programme
• Contributing to projects such as Safer Routes to School, Bus Service Improvement Plan, and Active Travel Fund
• Collaborating with the project team to ensure project objectives are met
• Preparing design documentation and technical reports
• Conducting site visits and assessments as required
• Ensuring all designs comply with relevant standards and legislation
• Utilising own vehicle for business travel when necessary

Job Requirements:

• Experience in highway design engineering
• Understanding of capital highway improvements projects
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to use own vehicle for business travel
• Strong technical and design skills
• Excellent report writing and documentation skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
