Highly specialized Speech & Language Therapist

Overview
We are seeking a Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist (0.6 FTE) with an interest in neurodevelopmental disorders and related experience. The successful post holder will contribute to completing assessments for ASD and ADHD within the CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team. You will join a multi-disciplinary team made up of psychologists, psychiatrists and nurses and work alongside assistant psychologists in the team. The service may continue to expand to meet demand. The successful post-holder will receive clinical supervision from a clinical psychologist experienced in neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as group supervision from the team.NHS AfC: Band 7South West London and St George\''s Mental Health NHS Trust has a rich history, well-established community links and an international reputation. Responsibilities
To provide specialist assessments of young children and their parents/carers referred to the service, interpreting and integrating data from multiple sources in line with CYP IAPT methodology.
To formulate plans and recommendations for evidence-based interventions to improve the parent/child relationship.
To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options considering theoretical and therapeutic models and complex factors from historical and developmental processes.
To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients whose problems are managed by psychologically based standard care plans.
To provide specialist mental health advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing to the care of the young child and their parents/carers.
To contribute to and/or use evidence-based, integrated working tools and processes to ensure holistic and coordinated services.
To undertake risk assessment and risk management for young children and their parents/carers.
To communicate information concerning assessment, formulation and treatment plans in a skilled and sensitive manner.
To monitor progress during interventions, ensuring interventions are assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated in line with CYP IAPT minimum dataset standards.
To maintain accurate and accessible health care records according to Trust policy and Information Governance requirements.
To demonstrate high level communication skills, both written and verbal, within all agencies.
