This is a brand new post created due to service expansion. This is an opportunity to join an already exciting and dynamic women and children’s team.The role will provide a highly specialist clinical pharmacy service within the Women and Children’s Directorate, ensuring high quality, safe, effective, legal and accurate use of medicines within the specialty. The Senior Pharmacist will maintain a regular clinical commitment to both women and paediatric wards (prescribing and neonatal experience would be desirable) and will provide information support for division and specialist pharmacists, deputising for the Lead Directorate Pharmacist when required.The post holder will provide and manage pharmaceutical services to the Women and Children Directorate in accordance with the needs of the Division. They will work with senior clinicians to determine medicines-related cost pressures for the Women and Children Directorate and will monitor and review prescribing practice to ensure effective, safe, evidence-based and cost-effective prescribing.

Responsibilities
