Overview

Highly Specialist Cardiac Pharmacist – St Bartholomew’s Hospital. Band 8a. (37.5 hours a week including back-up on call and weekend commitments). This is a 1 year fixed term contract, secondment.Opportunity

An exciting opportunity to join the cardiac team at Barts Heart Centre within Barts Health NHS Trust as our prevention service expands. The post provides opportunities for professional and personal development, quality improvement projects, supervising staff and supporting delivery of cardiovascular services. You will contribute to the research agenda and work with staff across Pharmacy and student placements. Experience in cardiac and/or cardiometabolic care is desirable.Responsibilities

Carry out the full range of duties as a specialist clinical pharmacist to deliver patient-focused, quality care across NEL.Provide patient-focused pharmaceutical care to optimise therapeutic outcomes and improve quality of life.Communicate effectively with patients to optimise pharmaceutical management and liaise with other health care professionals to design, implement and monitor therapeutic plans.Assist lead pharmacists in promoting high quality, cost-effective, and safe prescribing; provide pharmaceutical services to clinical areas relevant to the specialty and hospital site.Participate in education and training to primary care clinicians across NEL and assist in development of clinical pharmacy within the service.Qualifications and Experience
