An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Highly Specialist CAMHS Clinician to join the First Steps Community Psychology Service (part of Homerton Community CAMHS). The overall aim of the service is to promote the psychological and emotional wellbeing of children and families by intervening before psychological problems become severe and disabling. We are looking for skilled clinician who are passionate about early intervention and community psychology.The post-holder will be locality team lead for a team of Child Mental Health Specialists. They will provide managerial and operational support to the team. They will have oversight of a locality teams within First Steps, ensuring the best possible care is provided to children, young people and families within.The post holder will also be required to have a clinical case load within the service.We are particularly keen to receive applications from candidates from underrepresented groups, including those from a Global Majority background and male colleagues, to better reflect the diversity of our communityMain duties of the job

Post holder will be responsible and accountable for ensuring the provision of an autonomous and systematic Early Intervention and Community Psychology Service in a geographical area of City and HackneyThe post holder will work within a Locality Management Group to plan, monitor, review and ensure implementation of the serviceThe post holder will ensure the managerial and clinical supervision of members of the locality team and will have oversight of the teams workThe post holder will will deal with both strategic and operational issues.The post holder will provide teaching, training, consultation and supervision to other staff groups where relevant and will participate in CPD and other training activities. He or she will keep abreast of relevant research and national guidance and will follow broadly defined policies and agreed objectives. Interventions might include direct clinical work with children and their families, as part of prevention and early intervention initiatives, providing consultation/teaching/training to professionals or contributing to the development of services that affect children’s psychological and emotional well being.The post holder will hold a caseload and both direct and direct clinical provision.Working for our organisation

Education / Qualifcations

HCPC registered Psychologist or equivalentPostgraduate Doctorate in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology (or equivalent for those qualified prior to 1997) or Statement of Equivalence in Clinical Psychology (approved by the British Psychological Society; or equivalent professional Post Graduate Qualification in Mental Health Nursing, Psychotherapy or Family Therapy.Relevant clinical and/or managerial knowledge and skills acquired through formal training, long or short courses, formal supervision (individual and/or group), structured self-study, or experience - or a combination of these - to an appropriate level approved by the Head of Service and demonstrated by certification, documented supervision logs, management appraisal documentation and/or assessment at interview.Relevant post-qualification training (e.g family therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy for ASD; trauma).Experience
