Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a committed, resilient and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a Primary SEMH School in Wakefield. This is a specialist SEMH provision supporting pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support to achieve their full potential.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or HLTA who thrives in a nurturing, trauma-informed environment and is committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.About the RoleAs a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals to provide high-quality support for pupils with SEMH needs, autism, ADHD and associated learning difficulties.Your responsibilities will include:Delivering planned lessons and interventions in the absence of the teacherSupporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groupsPromoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategiesBuilding trusted relationships with pupils, families and staffAssisting with personalised learning plans and EHCP targetsSupporting the implementation of therapeutic and restorative approachesHelping to create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environmentThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:HLTA qualification or equivalent experienceExperience working with children or young people with SEMH needsStrong behaviour management and de-escalation skillsA calm, patient and empathetic approachExcellent ..... full job details .....
