We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team, supporting children with complex needs and challenging behaviour. This role is vital in helping pupils access learning, manage their emotional and social development, and achieve their full potential in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and adapt learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Provide 1:1 and group support for pupils with complex needs, including social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
- Use behaviour management strategies to de-escalate situations and maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
- Support the development of pupils'' independence, confidence and social skills.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and other professionals.
- Contribute to the planning, assessment and recording of pupil progress.
- Lead and supervise classes during teacher absence when required.
 About You- HLTA qualification (or equivalent) and relevant experience in an educational setting.
- Experience supporting children with SEMH, autism, ADHD, or other complex needs.
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- Patient, empathetic and resilient, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A team player with excellent communication skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
