This permanent High Speed FPGA Hardware Engineer VHDL position in Waltham Cross involves designing advanced digital electronics within a skilled engineering team. The engineer will create multilayer PCB layouts using Orcad and Altium, simulate analogue sections, and interface with RF hardware. Firmware tasks require VHDL or Embedded C to bridge between software and circuitry, with MATLAB used for modelling. Verification and testing of new assemblies, plus translating specifications into board-level solutions, form part of the work. Requirements
High speed digital design of multilayer PCB ideally in Orcad and Altium.
FPGAs using VHDL or Embedded C to bridge firmware and hardware.
MATLAB
High quality, right first time designs track record on time and to budget.
Good quality degree or equivalent in electronics.
Responsibilities
Design high speed digital designs and simulate the analogue sections.
Orcad and Altium schematic entry and layout.
Interfacing and configuring RF and associated design.
Hardware Test and verification of new electronic assemblies and sub assemblies.
Translate system requirement specifications into board level designs ensuring robust verification, by test specifications and circuit descriptions.
