About the Role
This role involves operating a HGV Class 2 vehicle with a HIAB crane to deliver timber and building supplies across the Sutton and New Malden Area. Based in New Malden, this temporary position pays £20.00 to £23.00 per hour for ten-hour shifts. You will transport materials to commercial and residential sites, performing safe crane operations with a brick grab. Key duties include completing daily vehicle checks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing professional service on location. The ideal candidate holds a valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence, a HIAB endorsement, and a Certificate of Professional Competence. Previous experience in a builders’ merchant or timber yard is advantageous for this assignment.
HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver - Temp Work
Location: Sutton andamp; New Malden
We are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 2 HIAB Drivers to support our client, across their Sutton and New Malden branches on a temporary basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for reliable and professional drivers with timber or builders'' merchant experience.
Pay Rates £20ph 10hr shift
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering timber and building materials to commercial and residential sites
- Safe operation of HIAB (brick grab essential)
- Ensuring timely and accurate deliveries
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and maintaining compliance with road safety regulations
- Providing excellent customer service on site
Requirements:
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid HIAB licence (brick grab or Hook required)
- CPC and Digital Tachograph card
- Previous experience in a builders'' merchant or similar environment preferred
- Good geographical knowledge of the local area
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
