Job Title: HGV Fleet Workshop Chargehand Location: Wellingborough Salary: 46,750 + Bonus Shift Pattern: Days Job Type: Permanent About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced HGV Fleet Workshop Chargehand to join our busy workshop operation in Wellingborough. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for a skilled HGV technician looking to take the next step into supervising day-to-day workshop activities while remaining actively involved in vehicle maintenance and repairs. Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and support a team of HGV technicians and apprenticesLead daily workshop operations, allocating jobs and managing workflowCarry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on HGVs and trailersEnsure vehicles are maintained in line with DVSA, MOT, and health and safety standardsOversee MOT preparation, inspections, and defect rectificationMaintain high standards of housekeeping and complianceLiaise with transport management to minimise vehicle downtimeProvide on-the-job training, guidance, and technical support to the teamRequirementsProven experience as an HGV Technician or Workshop Supervisor/ChargehandRelevant qualifications (Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent)Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skillsKnowledge of DVSA regulations and MOT standardsLeadership experience or the confidence to step into a supervisory roleAbility to work under pressure and manage priorities effectivelyIRTEC qualification (desirable but not essential)Full UK ..... full job details .....
