About the Role
The role of HGV & Trailer Technician is a full-time, permanent position based in Cardiff, offering a salary up to £21.00 per hour depending on experience. Overtime is readily available, paid at time and a half or double time. The working pattern is 06:00-14:00 or 10:00-18:00, with alternate Saturday mornings. Working from a busy commercial workshop, the successful candidate will carry out vehicle inspections and repairs, prepare vehicles for MOT testing, and perform welding and fabrication. The employer, established for over 19 years, provides workshop and mobile assistance for trucks and trailers. Applicants should possess strong diagnostic skills and relevant HGV technical experience.

The company provides workshop and mobile assistance to heavy good vehicles including trucks and trailers. With more than 19 years of experience in the industry, they are looking to bring on board new technicians who are looking for fresh challenge.
Job Role:
Based primarily at the busy commercial workshop, duties include
• Vehicle inspections and repairs
• MOT preparation and testing
• Welding and fabrication
• Diagnostic work
• Maintaining a clean and organised work area
• Working efficiently under pressure as part of a team
• Completing job records accurately and on time
• Adhering to all health & safety and company policies
Skills & Experience:
• Time-served technician essential
• HGV licence preferred (not essential)
• Experience with tail lifts and double-deck trailers preferred (training available)
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent ideal
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with HGVs / plant / trailers preferred
