HGV Technician

We are working on behalf of our client to recruit a Nightshift HGV Technician for a well-established commercial vehicle dealership in Widnes, Cheshire. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled and experienced HGV Technicians seeking to work night shifts in a reputable organisation committed to staff development and operational excellence.

• Basic salary of -55,000 per annum, with potential earnings exceeding -57,000 including overtime and bonuses
• Working Monday to Thursday nights, from 8:30pm to 7:00am

Duties of a HGV Technician:

• Perform maintenance, servicing, and repairs on commercial vehicles and trailers
• Diagnose faults using manufacturer technical data and testing equipment
• Conduct effective and permanent repairs, ensuring safety and compliance
• Complete warranty, contractual, and retail paperwork accurately
• Execute preventative maintenance to optimise vehicle reliability and minimise customer costs
• Support team members as required, maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and compliance

Requirements of a HGV Technician:

• NVQ Level 2 or higher qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (such as City & Guilds or equivalent)
• Proven experience in diagnosing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial vehicles
• Knowledge of work methods and technical data, supplemented by manufacturer training
• Full UK driving licence; HGV licence advantageous but not essential
• Organised with attention to detail and capable of working independently or within a team
• Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude
• Ability to work night shifts from 8:30pm to 7:00am, Tuesday to Friday
