HGV Technician

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for the position of HGV Technician (Nights) in Stockport. This is a permanent opportunity ideal for experienced motor trade professionals seeking a night shift role within a reputable organisation. • Competitive salary of up to £52,000 per annum plus overtime opportunities
• Permanent night shift pattern: 4 days on / 4 days off, 19:00 – 07:00

Duties:

• Maintain and repair a fleet of trucks, primarily older vehicles, with an emphasis on diagnostics and compliance
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
• Conduct scheduled inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT testing
• Ensure vehicle availability meets operational delivery schedules
• Promote and uphold health and safety standards within the workshop
• Maintain a clean, organised, and audit-ready workspace
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU)
• Perform various VMU tasks flexibly as required

Requirements:

• Proven experience in LGV fleet maintenance within a commercial environment
• City & Guilds LGV qualifications or equivalent in LGV Vehicle Crafts
• Strong organisational and teamwork skills
• Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement
• An LGV C+E licence is desirable but not essential
