HGV Technician

We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable National Dealership Group for an experienced HGV Technician to join their team in Preston. This is a unique HGV Technician opportunity for a skilled professional to work within a supportive environment, develop expertise in heavy vehicle maintenance, and benefit from an attractive salary package. The successful HGV Technician will work on heavy commercial vehicles and trailers, with potential for career advancement within the automotive industry.

• Only 3.5 days working week: Sunday to Tuesday from 7am to 7pm, Wednesday from 7am to 1pm

Duties:

• Perform maintenance and repair activities on heavy commercial vehicles and trailers
• Diagnose faults accurately and conduct testing to ensure complete repairs
• Complete warranty, contract, and retail paperwork in line with procedural guidelines
• Carry out preventative maintenance to reduce customer costs
• Support the team with additional tasks as delegated by your supervisor

Requirements:

• City & Guilds or equivalent qualification to NVQ level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
• Experience diagnosing, servicing, and repairing commercial vehicles
• Organised with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Manufacturer training and up-to-date knowledge of heavy vehicle systems
• Full UK driving licence; HGV licence is advantageous but not essential
• Confident communicator with a professional and friendly manner
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, either independently or in a team
