HGV Technician

You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a varied range of heavy commercial vehicles, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standard. This role would suit a qualified technician who takes pride in their workmanship and enjoys working as part of a skilled and supportive team.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehiclesComplete scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance in line with DVSA requirementsDiagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using appropriate diagnostic equipmentRepair and replace components including brakes, steering, suspension, transmissions and electrical systemsPrepare vehicles for MOT and ensure they meet all required roadworthiness standardsAttend vehicle breakdowns when requiredAccurately complete job cards, inspection sheets and compliance documentationIdentify additional defects and report any required repairsEnsure work is completed efficiently while maintaining excellent quality and safety standardsKeep tools, equipment and the workshop clean, organised and properly maintainedSkills and ExperienceThe successful candidate will ideally have:Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician or Heavy Vehicle TechnicianA recognised Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent experienceStrong mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skillsGood ..... full job details .....
