HGV Technician

Are you an experienced HGV Technician who enjoys solving faults, working on a variety of jobs and seeing a vehicle leave the workshop ready for the road? We''re looking for a skilled technician to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop in Dunstable.

You''ll be trusted to diagnose, service and repair customer vehicles to a high standard. It''s a hands-on role where your technical ability, attention to detail and approach to safety will make a real difference every day.

What you''ll be doing

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults on HGVs.
• Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and scheduled safety inspections.
• Using diagnostic equipment to identify issues and determine the repairs needed.
• Reporting any additional work identified during inspections.
• Working with the Shift Supervisor to plan and complete your daily workload.
• Completing job cards clearly and accurately.
• Taking part in a call-out and breakdown rota if required.

What we''re looking for

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification in HGV maintenance and repair.
• Strong mechanical and electrical repair experience.
• Confidence with fault finding and diagnostic equipment.
• A good understanding of workshop health and safety.
• A clean driving licence; an HGV licence would be an advantage.

You''ll work 44 hours per week, Monday to Friday, across early and late shifts:

Early: 6:00am4:00pm, finishing at 3:00pm on Friday.

Late: 12:00pm10:00pm, finishing at 9:00pm on Friday.
