HGV TECHNICIAN Location: GillinghamSalary: 40,000 - 45,000paHours: Monday to Friday - Days KHR Recruitment Specialists are working with a well-established transport and logistics business based in Gillingham, who are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join their in-house workshop team.You''ll be responsible for the servicing, repair and maintenance of a fleet of DAF and Mercedes HGVs, ensuring vehicles are safe, compliant and kept to a high standard.Key responsibilities:- Carrying out routine servicing and preventative maintenance- Completing PMI (Preventative Maintenance Inspection) work- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults- Carrying out mechanical repairs and component replacements- Electrical fault finding, repairs and diagnostics- Working on braking, suspension, steering and transmission systems- Carrying out inspections and identifying potential faults- Maintaining and repairing vehicle engines and associated components- Using diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify faults- Preparing vehicles for MOT and ensuring roadworthiness- Maintaining accurate maintenance and repair records- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company proceduresCandidate Profile- NVQ Level 3 in HGV Maintenance and Servicing/Repair or equivalent- Previous experience as an HGV Technician or Mechanic- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills- Experience servicing and maintaining HGVs- Experience carrying out PMI work- Experience working on DAF ..... full job details .....
