Location: Harlow, Essex
Salary: £42,000 – £65,000 per annum, depending on experience

About the Role
My client is currently looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join their established independent workshop based in Harlow.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced technician who enjoys fault finding, diagnostics and working on a varied range of commercial vehicles.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of HGVs and commercial vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Fault finding using diagnostic equipment, including TEXA and Jaltest
- MOT preparation and rectification work
- Investigating and repairing vehicle defects
- Carrying out repairs to a high standard
- Completing service sheets and job documentation accurately
- Working safely and maintaining a clean and professional workshop
- Working independently and as part of a team
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with manufacturer and industry standards
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 2 years'' experience as an HGV Technician
- Strong knowledge of HGVs and commercial vehicles
- Good mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Experience with servicing, inspections and repairs
- Strong fault-finding ability
- A professional and reliable attitude
- Good attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications are desirable
- Class 1 or Class 2 licence is beneficial but not essential
Working Hours
The role operates on a fortnightly shift pattern:
Week 1:
Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm
Week 2:
Monday – Friday, 12:00pm – 8:00pm
Saturday, 7:00am – 12:00pm
A £60 late-shift bonus is paid during the late-shift week.
