We are seeking a highly skilled HGV Service Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter with proven experience in the commercial vehicle industry. You will work on a variety of heavy goods vehicles, completing high-quality servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards. Key Responsibilities of an HGV Service Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter
- Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on HGVs to manufacturer and VOSA standards
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Prepare heavy goods vehicles for MOTs and complete safety inspections
- Assist other HGV Technicians, HGV Mechanics and HGV Fitters with technical challenges in the workshop
- Attend breakdowns and provide roadside repairs when required
- Maintain accurate job cards, inspection reports and service records
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety guidelines and company procedures
Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Service Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter
Essential
- Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
- At least 1 year’s post-apprenticeship experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter
- Previous dealership or main dealer experience in commercial vehicles
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence
- IRTEC qualification
