Hgv Technician

Our client is an independent commercial vehicle repair company in Market Weighton. Their technicians work from 8:00am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday and occasional Saturday mornings. Saturday mornings are either presenting vehicles for MOT in their on-site ATF or tachograph calibrations. Easy work, little stress, finished by lunchtime. This employer would offer any new starter the opportunity for tacho training which usually brings a small uplift in their rate of pay. This is an excellent opportunity for and experienced HGV Technician / HGV Fitter / HGV Mechanic who is looking for a work-life balance. Core Responsibilities Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Carrying out routine servicing and preventive maintenance. Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults. Repairing or replacing defective parts (e.g., brakes, steering, suspension, engines, gearboxes). Ensuring vehicles meet manufacturer specifications. Inspections and Compliance Performing regular vehicle inspections in line with DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) or local transport authority regulations. Conducting MOT (Ministry of Transport) preparations and inspections. Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Diagnostics and Technical Work Using diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults. Updating software and electronic systems in modern HGVs.
