We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HGV Team Leader to join a professional removals and logistics operation in Sheffield.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in the moving industry who can lead by example, deliver exceptional customer service, and support the day-to-day running of the branch, including deputising for the Operations Manager when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate moving teams to deliver a first-class customer experience.
- Safely oversee domestic, commercial, and office relocations.
- Brief and debrief crews, ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely.
- Liaise directly with customers and resolve issues professionally.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, Health & Safety requirements, and transport legislation.
- Support staff development through coaching and on-the-job training.
- Assist with branch operations and cover management duties in the Operations Manager's absence.
- Undertake Move Controller duties when required.
- Previous experience within the removals/moving industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Good knowledge of UK geography, Working Time Directive, and O Licence compliance.
- Experience carrying out risk assessments and implementing Health & Safety procedures.
- HGV Category C or C E licence and Driver CPC preferred
- Flexible approach to work, including occasional overnight stays and weekend working.
- Professional attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
- £14.00 - £17.00 per hour depending on experience.
- Overtime paid after 40 hours.
- 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays (33 days total).
- 40 hours per week, typically 07:30 - 16:30 with a one-hour lunch break.
- Working 5 days out of 7 on a Monday to Sunday rota.
- Rotas generally issued in advance, subject to operational requirements.
