Hours: 44 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Tuesday - Friday, 7:30pm - 7:00am
The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Night Shift Technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle workshop.
You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a range of commercial vehicles to a high standard. The role requires a confident and experienced technician who can work independently, accurately diagnose faults and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HGV Technician looking for a permanent night-shift position within a modern workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
-Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults on commercial vehicles.
-Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards.
-Use modern diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify vehicle faults.
-Complete scheduled safety inspections and identify any additional repairs required.
-Repair and replace faulty components and vehicle parts.
-Work on mechanical, electrical and vehicle subsystem faults.
-Follow the repair process from initial fault diagnosis through to completion.
-Complete job cards and workshop documentation accurately.
-Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
-Support other Technicians within the workshop where required.
-Carry out inspections and preventative maintenance.
-Maintain high standards of workmanship and vehicle safety.
Requirements
-City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
-Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Truck Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
-Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
-Experience using modern diagnostic equipment.
-Previous experience working on commercial vehicles, trucks or heavy vehicles.
-Ability to diagnose faults with minimal supervision.
-Excellent problem-solving skills.
-Strong attention to detail.
-Ability to follow workshop procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
-Good communication skills.
-Full UK Driving Licence.
-Experience with manufacturer-specific diagnostic systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
