Job Title: HGV Mechanic / Technician
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Duration: Temporary to Permanent
To carry out inspection, servicing, diagnostics and repair of light vehicles and/or HGV trailers, ensuring all work meets safety standards and MOT requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Technician
* Service, maintain, and repair HGV trailers.
* Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections.
* Carry out fault finding and mechanical repairs.
* Support electrical fault diagnosis where required.
Light Vehicle Mechanic
* Carry out servicing and maintenance on cars and vans.
* Inspect vehicles to MOT standard.
* Diagnose faults using appropriate diagnostic tools.
* Perform repairs on light commercial vehicles and cars.
* Work collaboratively within a team of technicians.
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Mechanic or Vehicle Technician.
* Knowledge of light vehicles and/or HGV trailers.
* Experience with diagnostics and fault finding.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and safety standards.
* Basic electrical fault-finding knowledge (desirable).
Qualifications
* Relevant mechanical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent).
* Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
Working Hours
Monday to Friday - 07:30 to 16:30
