HGV Mechanic

My client are a leading warehousing and distribution with sites across the UK, serving predominantly the UK FMCG market. With their turnover sitting around the £60m mark, they are primed for growth and hope to achieve the magic £100m number in the next couple of years through organic growth and acquisitions.
Having recently invested in a purpose built VMU, they are looking to recruit two new HGV Technicians to join their team on a 4on/4off shift pattern.
Role Responsibilties include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure that all vehicles are MOT prepared within operating licence timescales.
- Ensure that all vehicles are serviced on time and in full.
- All Inspections to be carried out on time and in full.
- All repairs to be carried out on time and in full.
- All timescales to be in line with DVSA and Operators Licence requirements.
- Complete relevant paperwork to comply with health and safety and food safety standards and to track the service provided.
- Provide excellent customer service with a proactive attitude
- Operate relevant MHE (if applicable / permitted & authorised) safely and in accordance with the correct procedures
- Report any accidents as soon as possible and in compliance with Buffaload Logistics’ accident reporting procedure
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the Uniform Guidelines and Health and Safety Policy
- To promote a positive health and safety culture through your individual actions.
- To ensure that all work completed is recorded in electronic or paperwork versions as required, thereby ensuring a full audit trail of work is available for inspection at all times.
Ideally you will 3+ years experience in a similar HGV Technician or Mechanic role, and have qualifications such as IRTEC, C&G Vehicle Maintenance or HGV Techician Level 2-3. A strong knowledge of a variety of OEM's is required, and some knowledge of refrigerated trailers is preferred.
