HGV Fitter

OLG Recruitment are currently looking for a HGV Fitter for our client located in Scunthorpe. This is a permanent opportunity working shifts. We re looking for experienced, reliable, practical and safety-minded HGV fitter to carry out inspection, servicing, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), trailers, and specialist support vehicles, including vacuum jetting tankers, to ensure they remain safe, roadworthy, and fully compliant with all relevant legislation and company standards. The role involves working on a mixed fleet of vehicles operating in a demanding industrial environment, ensuring high standards of workmanship, safety, and efficiency at all times. What you ll be doing Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on HGVs, trailers, and specialist vehicles. Diagnose and repair faults involving engines, gearboxes, clutches, braking systems, suspension, steering, and electrical systems. Inspect, maintain, and repair vacuum jetting tankers, including vacuum pumps, water pumps, pipework, hoses, valves, tanks, and associated hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Conduct breakdown repairs both in the workshop and on-site as required. Replace components including axles, wheel bearings, air systems, hydraulic equipment, and PTO-driven ancillary systems. Diagnostics and Inspection Use diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical and electronic faults. Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.
