HGV Driver - Non Bulk
Role Overview
Wynnstay Group is seeking a professional, safety-focused and customer-oriented HGV Driver - Non Bulk to support our national distribution operation by delivering products efficiently, safely and reliably to customers across our network.
Reporting to the National Distribution Manager (Non-Bulk), with a dotted line of responsibility to the Transport Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring products are delivered on time while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance and customer service.
This is a hands-on role that combines HGV driving, vehicle loading and unloading, manual handling and customer interaction. You will be responsible for operating your assigned vehicle safely and professionally, ensuring all deliveries are completed accurately and in line with legal and company requirements.
Working within operator licence requirements, including tachograph regulations and the Working Time Directive, you will maintain high standards of compliance whilst representing Wynnstay positively at customer sites and across the wider business.
The role requires a proactive approach to vehicle care and roadworthiness, including daily defect reporting, cleanliness checks and wheel nut inspections in accordance with company policy. You will also complete relevant administrative tasks associated with deliveries and transport operations.

Responsibilities
- Carrying out a range of driving and delivery activities, including HGV driving, manual handling and customer deliveries.
- Safely loading and unloading vehicles in accordance with company procedures and safe working practices.
- Completing all delivery documentation and associated administrative requirements accurately and on time.
- Fully complying with operator licence requirements, tachograph regulations and the Working Time Directive where applicable.
- Conducting daily vehicle checks and using Wynnstay''s defect reporting system to report faults or concerns promptly.
- Maintaining the condition, cleanliness and roadworthiness of your assigned vehicle, both internally and externally.
- Ensuring wheel nuts are checked and tightened in accordance with company policy and procedures.
- Delivering excellent customer service by representing Wynnstay in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
- Building positive relationships with customers and responding appropriately to customer queries when required.
- Following all health and safety procedures and promoting safe working practices at all times.
- Attending and completing any training deemed necessary for the role.
- Identifying and escalating any issues that may impact safety, compliance, customer service or operational performance.
- Supporting colleagues and contributing positively to the wider Transport and Distribution team.
- Meeting or exceeding objectives agreed through the Wynnstay Review process.
- Undertaking any other reasonable duties as required by management.
- Adhering to all Wynnstay policies, procedures and company standards.
What we''re looking for
Essential:
- Valid HGV licence appropriate to the vehicle being operated.
- Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
- Good understanding of driver hours legislation, tachograph regulations and transport compliance requirements.
- Experience operating HGV vehicles safely and professionally.
- Ability to load, unload and handle goods safely, including manual handling activities.
- Strong commitment to health and safety and safe working practices.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and reliability.
- Basic administrative skills to complete transport and delivery documentation.
- Flexible and dependable approach with the ability to adapt to operational requirements.
Desirable:
- Previous experience within agricultural, feed, retail distribution or logistics environments.
- Experience operating a range of commercial vehicles.
- Knowledge of vehicle defect reporting systems and transport technology.
- Forklift or other relevant material handling qualifications.
- Experience delivering goods directly to agricultural, commercial or rural customers.
