Hgv Class 2 Driver

Our Fareham based client is seeking a professional Class 2 driver to assist with 

*** Temp to Perm opportunity with immediate start ***

• Safely operate HGV2 / LGV2 / Class 2 vehicles 
• Deliver palletised / Caged Goods - Deliveries include Gatwick/Heathow Airports 
• Complete vehicle checks - Reporting and logging and defects 
• Ensure accurate delivery paperwork and digital records
• Provide excellent customer service / customer facing role 
• Work efficiently to meet delivery schedules
• Assist with heavy lifting and manual handling when required
• Follow all relevant health & safety procedures

Licensing & Driving Compliance

• Category C Qualification: Must hold a valid, active UK Category C (Class 2 / LGV2) driving licence.
• Professional Credentials: Possession of a valid Driver CPC (DQC) card and an active Digital Tachograph card is mandatory.
• Insurance Criteria: Clean driving record preferred, allowing a maximum of 3 minor penalty points (e.g., SP30) to comply with restrictive fleet insurance policies.
• Exclusions: Zero tolerance for major motoring convictions, including DD, DR, CD, or IN10 codes.

Proven Experience & Operational Skills

• Road Time: Minimum of 6 months of verifiable HGV driving experience handling rigid vehicles in the UK.
• Delivery Profiling: Proven track record in executing Class 2 multidrop deliveries 
• Equipment Mastery: Competent in safely operating hydraulic vehicle tail-lifts alongside manual and electric pallet trucks.
• Physical Stamina: Experience with demanding manual handling tasks, including maneuvering heavy freight over kerbs, inclines, and uneven ground.

Vetting, Integrity & Background Checks

• Background Check: Must provide a Basic DBS certificate issued within the last 6 months to verify a clear criminal record for high-value cargo handling.
