About the Role
This tramping position based in Newton Aycliffe offers £180 daily for HGV Class 1 work. Rapier Employment seeks a licensed driver with at least a year on their C+E entitlement and three months of commercial practice to satisfy insurance terms. Duties cover vehicle inspections, general haulage, trailer swaps, RDC deliveries, and operating curtain siders or box trailers across northern regions and the Midlands. Shifts run Monday through Friday on days, with £25 paid per night out. Applicants need a digital tachograph card, valid CPC, no more than six points, and none of the specified DR10, CD10, or IN10 codes. A positive approach is expected.

Rapier Employment are currently seeking an HGV Class 1 driver for our busy client in Newton Aycliffe.
Responsibilities will include:
- Vehicle checks
- General haulage.
- Collections with trailer swaps and RDC work.
- Curtain siders, Box trailers.
- Delivering regionally, across the north and midlands.
The ideal candidate.
- Held your HGV C+E licence for at least 12 months
- You must have at least 3 months commercial experience for insurance purposes
- “Can do” attitude
- No DR10’s No CD10’s No IN10’s - NO MORE THAN 6 POINTS
- Digital Tachograph Card and CPC qualification
Hours + Shifts
- Monday to Friday Days tramping
- Shift rate £180 days tramping. £25 per night out.
