About the Role

HGV Class 1 Drivers are sought by Rapier Employment for trunking and curtain-side collection work based in Erdington, serving automotive clients across Solihull, Castle Bromwich, and Wolverhampton. These roles involve no handball, focusing instead on trailer swaps. Candidates must possess at least one year of on-road experience. Work patterns are flexible, offering ad-hoc shifts or full weeks, Monday to Friday with optional weekends, and various start times around the clock. Both full-time and part-time contracts are available. Pay rates are £16.68 per hour for days, £20.85 for nights, rising to £37.53 for night overtime, with a guaranteed nine hours daily.

Job description (HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER WITH A MINIMUM 1 YEAR ON THE ROAD EXPERIENCE)
We are recruiting HGV class 1 drivers for our prestigious automotive client in Solihull, Castle Bromwich & Wolverhampton
Trunking-based work (no handball) or collections and trailer swaps (curtain-side)
You may be required to work out of the following locations (optional):

Solihull (Damson Parkway) B92
Castle Bromwich B35
Hams Hall B46

Various start times around the clock. Ad-hoc shifts or full weeks available.
Monday to Friday with optional weekends
HGV CLASS 1 Pay Rates:
Days (0600-1800) £16.68 per hour - guaranteed 9 hours per day (8 hrs basic + 1 hr overtime)
Nights (1800-0600) £20.85 per hour - guaranteed 9 hours per day (8 hrs basic + 1 hr overtime)
Overtime Nights (after 8 hrs) - £29.19 per hour
Overtime Days (after 8 hrs) - £25.02 per hour
Saturday Days - TBC per hour
Saturday Night/Sunday - £37.53 per hour
Bank Holiday - £37.53 per hour
Paid breaks
9 hours guaranteed per day
33 paid days of holiday
Weekly pay
Pay increases after 1 years service
Requirements:
Class 1 licence (UK issued)
Driver CPC (UK issued)
Digicard (UK issued)
MINIMUM 1 YEAR ON THE ROAD EXPERIENCE
HELD LGV LICENCE FOR AT LEAST 2 YEARS

Max 6 penalty points
No DR or DD convictions
