HGV Class 1 Driver

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Sheffield area. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Shifts:-Shifts run across Monday to Sunday (full time or part time available or ad-hoc)

Hours-: Start times any time between 12:00pm to- 21:00pm (Flexibility for shift times required)-

Pay Rate:

• Midweek - -18.15 per hour rising to -19.15 after 12 weeks
• Midweek overtime (after 8 hours) - -25.25 per hour rising to -27.25 after 12 weeks
• Saturday - -23.52 per hour rising to -24.52 after 12 weeks
• Saturday overtime (after 8 hours) - -25.25 per hour rising to -27.25 after 12 weeks
• Sunday - -26.25 per hour rising to -27.25 after 12 weeks
• Bank Holidays - -34.42 per hour rising to -35.42 after 12 weeks

The role:

• - Execute depot pull, filling the back of a trailer at the depot and transporting it to a hub.
• - Engage in customer work, taking the vehicle to a customer to collect a trailer, delivering it to a hub, and returning to the depot.
• - Assist with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot
• - Perform drop and swap operations, sometimes using a tail lift, and occasionally doing trailer swaps requiring uncoupling the vehicle.
• - Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries.
• - Travel to local sites for a one-off download of the tacho card prior to being put forward for the position.
• - Attend an on-site induction for the first shift.

Requirements:

• - Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
• - Have at least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
• - Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• - No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• - Less than 12 infringement points in any one month and no infringement points for three consecutive months.
• - Flexibility to work shifts across Monday to Sunday with start times from 12 pm - 9 pm (all paid at night rate).
• - Ability to travel to local site for tacho card download prior to being put forward.
• - Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• - Excellent communication skills.
