About the Role
As an HGV Class 1 Day Driver based in Sheffield, you will join Pertemps Sheffield on a full-time, ongoing contract with a leading utilities firm. This role offers Monday to Friday day shifts, with no weekend or bank holiday work required. Your responsibilities include delivering goods, materials, plant, and equipment to operational sites, performing stock checks, replenishing engineer lockers, and safely loading and unloading your vehicle. The pay rate is £17.93 per hour, rising to £20.93 for overtime after 40 hours weekly. Key skills needed are a valid Class 1 licence, a good driving record, and the ability to handle physical tasks.

Pertemps Sheffield is currently recruiting HGV Class 1 Day Drivers for an ongoing opportunity with a leading utilities company based in Sheffield.
This is an excellent opportunity offering Monday to Friday day work only – no weekends or bank holiday working required.
The Role

- Deliver a wide range of goods, materials, plant and equipment to operational sites
- Deliver and put away stock at various locations
- Carry out stock checks and replenish engineer lockers and storage areas
- Load and unload the vehicle safely
- Deliver materials and equipment to live operational sites
- Complete vehicle checks and ensure all paperwork is accurate
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within stores and vehicles
- Provide a high standard of customer service to engineers and internal stakeholders
- Comply with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph regulations
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and company policies at all times
- Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Ideally 2 years' Class 1 driving experience
- No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements)
- Good geographical knowledge
- Experience securing loads safely
- Good understanding of Driver Hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph legislation
- Ability to complete daily vehicle checks and report defects
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A reliable, proactive and safety-conscious approach to work
