About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and safety-conscious HGV (C+E) Driver, Plant Operator and Overhead Line Workers Mate to join our Operations team.
In this varied role, you will:
Drive a range of HGV vehicles, carrying out vehicle checks and ensuring loads are transported safely.
Load/unload vehicles using mounted cranes or forklifts and secure loads for transit.
Operate plant and equipment on site, including excavators and lifting machinery (training provided where required).
Support Overhead Line Workers with inspection, maintenance, repair, and construction of the electricity supply network.

What We’re Looking For
Essential skills and experience:

Clean HGV (C+E) licence and valid CPC card.
Experience in route planning, load handling and securing goods.
Knowledge of pre-journey vehicle checks and logbook maintenance.
Strong safety awareness and willingness to work outdoors in all weather.
Flexible, self-motivated and able to work independently.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Plant operating experience.

Desirable skills:

Experience in the utilities industry
Computer literacy

Key Responsibilities

Transport plant, materials and equipment safely to and from sites across Lancashire.
Ensure compliance with all HGV regulations and company safety standards.
Carry out operator maintenance tasks, vehicle/plant checks and report defects promptly.
Operate wheeled and tracked plant (training provided as necessary).
Support overhead line work as a Craftsman’s Mate, undertaking training to gain authorisation.
Contribute to a positive safety culture and follow Electricity North West codes of practice.
