About the Role
This temporary HGV 2 Driver role in Newbridge, near Edinburgh, offers £14.50 to £21.75 per hour through Manpower UK. Working shifts for a logistics client, the successful candidate oversees safe unloading at customer premises and ensures Proofs of Delivery are signed and returned. Each shift begins and ends with checks on load security and weight distribution, following current safe working practices. Drivers must report any vehicle defects promptly and complete daily inspections before use, operating the lorry responsibly throughout. Applicants need a valid HGV Class 2 Licence with no more than six points, plus Driver CPC and a Digital Tachograph card. Reliability and attention to safety are essential.
Manpower is currently looking for HGV 2 drivers to work with one of our clients based in Newbridge (near Edinburgh)
Specific tasks will include:
- Overseeing the safe unloading of vehicles at customer premises.
- Ensuring Proofs of Delivery are signed andamp; returned
- Check the load security andamp; weight distribution according to latest safe working practices at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Ensure that the delivery vehicles are always maintained to Company standards in terms of reporting of any defects to the vehicle.
- Ensuring vehicles are in a safe condition, with daily checks correctly completed before use andamp; are operated in a safe manner.
Essential Skills for the role:
- To hold a valid HGV Class 2 Licence (with no more than 6 points)
- Driver CPC andamp; Digital Tachograph card
- Knowledge of working time directive
- Multi-Drop experience
- Experience working with Steel
Hours of work will be dayshift Monday to Friday.
